7050 is a high strength heat treatable alloy with high strength and resistance to spalling corrosion and stress corrosion fracture. It is often used in aircraft structural parts for medium and heavy plate extrusion parts, free forging parts and die forging parts. In order to manufacture this kind of parts, the alloy is required to have strong resistance to spalling corrosion and stress corrosion cracking, fracture toughness and fatigue resistance.
